Meetings

The Young Women Empowerment Network (YWEN) organized a stakeholders’ meeting
focused on ending gender-based violence (GBV). The meeting brought together various
church leaders, Ministries, Non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and advocates to
discuss strategies for addressing and preventing GBV. Participants engaged in collaborative
discussions, shared insights, and developed action plans to enhance support for survivors and
tackle GBV effectively. This initiative underscores YWEN’s commitment to creating safer
communities and driving impactful change through collective action and stakeholder
engagement.
The discussions at the meeting revealed a shared determination to address GBV from
multiple angles, integrating faith-based perspectives, governmental policies, and community-
based interventions. The diverse range of stakeholders contributed unique viewpoints and
resources, leading to a comprehensive approach that seeks to address the root causes of GBV
while providing immediate support to survivors. The collaborative spirit of the meeting not
only generated innovative solutions but also fostered new partnerships that will strengthen
ongoing efforts to combat violence and support affected individuals.
Moreover, the action plans developed during the meeting include concrete steps for raising
awareness, improving access to resources, and implementing preventive measures across
different sectors. By setting clear goals and establishing accountability mechanisms, the
stakeholders are poised to make significant strides in reducing GBV. YWEN’s role in

facilitating this dialogue highlights its dedication to driving systemic change and ensuring
that efforts to end gender-based violence are sustained and effective. The commitment and
collaboration demonstrated at the meeting set a strong foundation for future initiatives and
continued progress in creating safer, more equitable communities.
