The Young Women Empowerment Network (YWEN) support team had the privilege of
presenting its educational video screening initiative at the AIDS Conference(AIDS2024),
showcasing their work to a global audience. The videos, which focus on bodily autonomy,
mental health, bullying, and HIV status disclosure, are part of YWEN’s outreach in rural
areas. Presenting at the conference allowed YWEN to highlight its innovative approach to
promoting SRHR and HIV awareness on an international stage.
Additionally, the conference provided a platform for YWEN to engage with other
organizations and experts, fostering valuable discussions about best practices and innovative
strategies in sexual and reproductive health education. The insights gained from these
interactions will be instrumental in refining YWEN’s initiatives and adapting them to meet
the evolving needs of the communities they serve. As YWEN continues to champion these
important causes, the exposure and connections made at AIDS2024 will undoubtedly play a
crucial role in amplifying their impact and driving positive change on a broader scale.
